Weekend in North Wales

Our trip to North Wales was our first organised tour and something we would definitely do again!

Left on friday evening from Earls Court at about 7pm. Crammed into a small van, about 16 of us headed off for North Wales with Tour Guide Dave. We arrived at our B&B in Llandudno at about 12:30, and pretty much went straight to sleep.

Saturday was at leisure until 11am and we headed up the Great Orme for views over the town. Llandudno is like a large skinny toe that sticks out from the mainland. It has beaches on both sides, and the views are great. Here are the highlights of the rest of the weekend.

Saturday 28th May- Bed Gellert, a town built around a dog's grave, Canarfon castle, Betswy-coed an arty town that has 2 galleries, followed by supper at the B&B and an evening out on the town where Brad showed the tour group 'The Brad' dance movement! After quite a few tequilas and beers consumed there were definately a few headaches on Sunday.

Sunday 29th May- Started early off to Mt Snowdon, the 2nd highest peak in the UK at 1085m. Fantastic walk up to the summit. After the walk we headed off to the beach for a 'barbeque'. Beautiful evening and sunset, and the food was good.

Monday 30th May (bank holiday!) - Conway castle, smallest house in the UK, place with the longest name, Port Merion (Italian village built from parts of other buildings) and a beach visit. We knew the beach would be interesting when we drove onto the beach looking for a place to park!
