Singapore
A gentle introduction into Asia with the expected mob of tourists bargaining for the best deals on everything from digital cameras to perfume and a well catered for Starbucks and KFC market. A very controlled and ordered society with fines for littering, spitting and farting. We explored on foot, taking a stroll through the very impressive Botanical Gardens and colourful areas of Little India and Chinatown. The food for me was the highlight, with wonderful and well hidden markets serving up ridiculously cheap and quality dishes.
An additional travel companion, in the form of Jacks' mom, met us in Singapore and we crossed the border into Malaysia and caught a flight from Johor Bahru to Kota Kinabalu in Borneo.
