Stonehenge and Salisbury - 24 July
After a really good Saturday night sushi session with Simon, Lorrainne, Shaun, Robyn and Badger, we woke up pretty early on Sunday. It was raining quite heavily, but we decided to continue with plans, and we caught a train from Clapham to Salisbury. We hopped on a guide friday bus, and headed off for a tour of the town, and ended up at Stonehenge. By the time we got there, the weather was good, and we had a tour around the big rocks. Very glad that we had a tour guide, otherwise they would have been just big rocks. Don't know why they decided to build such a great monument on such a busy road (hee hee). After Stonehenge we headed back into Salisbury. As towns go it is really pretty, surrounded by hills, and at the convergence of 5 rivers. We walked around a bit, and checked out the Cathedral, which I think has the 3rd highest spire. After a bit of shopping we headed back home on the train. Great to get out on a Sunday and do something constructive.
